Hey everyone! So, as you all have been welcomed to my inquiry project, here is my starting post. My beginning date is Thursday, September 30th, 2021 and my yoga, calm activity, and meditation practices will continue daily. I created a chart to track my progress of my initial before, during, and after feelings. Within these feelings I am accounting for pain in my head, neck, stiffness, soreness, mood, and overall happiness. After each week I will conduct a summary of my headaches or improvements of my feelings. By using this chart it will allow me to also track what kind of yoga lead to what feelings/improvements.

This morning I took part in this yoga video with Adriene. Adriene Mishler is a 37 year old yoga instructor who has over 9 million subscribers on youtube and had a huge passion for yoga, meditation, and wellbeing. I have watched and followed Adriene’s teachings before and I am excited to continue on this journey with their various types of videos. My mom introduced me to Adriene’s videos when I first injured my neck and was having back problems. The way yoga is approached in the videos creates a safe space for me as I am new to daily yoga and meditation. Below is the video link I followed in addition to my results above and start of my tracking chart.

Today I woke up well rested, ate a good breakfast, and had no in person school allowing me to be more relaxed than normal. Before starting the yoga video I felt “good”, during the video I was “good” but challenged with the movements and length. Lastly, after the video I feel warm but almost empty or hungry. My head feels a little fuzzy, but I feel more ready to take on the day. I assume the reason for my empty feeling is due to hunger and the relaxation i gained from doing this morning yoga. Overall, it was a solid start to my inquiry and I am very interested to see where it takes me in terms of my injuries, overall mental well being, and symptoms.

I hope you enjoyed my start,

I am no yoga genius, but I am getting there one day at a time.
